Debbie Andrews is a marketing and communications expert, whose experience spans from the non-profit world to the private sector, including a stint at a division of Ogilvy and Mather, one of the largest advertising agencies in the world. Debbie moves comfortably between the charitable and for-profit world, bringing a mix of business knowledge and marketing savvy to her clients. She is both a strategic thinker and a "hands on" executioner, specializing in research, cause marketing, program development, proposal writing, project management and conference planning.
For the past ten years she has been consulting for organizations whose missions cover issues ranging from violence against women, human trafficking, human rights, child abduction, and the use of visual arts programing to promote social and environmental justice around the world. Debbie has developed programs to address these issues both in the U.S. and internationally.
Prior to consulting, Debbie was Executive Director of the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN), the largest, anti-sexual violence organization in the country. RAINN operates the National Rape Hotline, in partnership with hundreds of local rape crisis centers (RCC) across the country. Her responsibilities included managing the organization's marketing and communications strategy, operations, RCC membership, program development, legislative agenda and survivor speaker's bureau. She also developed and managed corporate partnerships and national outreach, working with the six national broadcast TV networks and show producers to secure tens of millions of dollars in donated media.
Debbie also has experience in the private sector, first at the advertising agency RTC Direct in Washington, DC where she rose from Research Assistant to Research Director. In that capacity Debbie helped develop advertising, marketing, grassroots and public relations strategies for commercial and public policy clients. She went on to join one of the agency's clients, US Airways, as Marketing Manager. For three years she promoted the Airline's international destinations through co-operative destination marketing campaigns with tourist boards in Barcelona, Spain, Venice, Italy and Glasgow, Scotland.
Earlier in her career, Debbie worked in the field of hospital administration and quality assurance at the U.S. Army Hospital in Augsburg, Germany. Prior to that position, she was employed by Amnesty International USA in New York. Debbie holds a B.A. in political science and economics from Chatham College.
